Using the Diary

The Rotary Club of Buckingham's founder members were presented with their official Charter on Thursday, October 24th1968. The presentation of the Charter was made by District Governor Rotarian Aubrey H. Phillips of Banbury and was received by the first President of the Club Rotarian Anthony Archdeacon who remains to this day, an active member of our club.

This was followed by a speech of welcome made by Rotarian Roland E Richardson, a past President of Rotary International of Great Britain and Ireland, who made the journey from Grimsby specially to be present.

Representatives from twenty-seven Rotary Clubs were present to witness the ceremony.

Weekly meetings were then held at the Town's White Hart Hotel until the early eighties when the local Golf Club became the new venue. The Club has held regular meetings at the current venue since 2001.
