Work and emails, work and emails, work and emails then Thanks for Life conference call - good day so far...!

This evening Rtn Alan is escorting me to Dunstable Downs Rotary Club. Their venue is familiar to many of us, in fact it might be a good place for me to leave my sleeping bag - that's right it's Tilsworth Golf Centre...

Dunstable Downs have a good speaker programme and work with local charities and community groups. They are the inspiration behind Kids Out for District 1260 so I'm sure you've interacted with them over the years.

President Nick has a nice relaxed style and we happily tucked into scampi and chips - bit of a busman's holiday for Alan who was escorting me, he owns a fish and chip business but boy was it tasty!

We all sat around one large table which was great for full interaction with the Club members. We had some healthy discussions about membership, marketing and general Rotary business; I really enjoyed our exchange of ideas and look forward to visiting again in the coming months. What I really loved about our discussion was that just about everyone had something constructive to say and we could see that through such open conversation the big issues of Rotary become smaller.

Dunstable Downs have a website which shows their meeting activities. Take a look, http://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/programme.asp?ClubID=1479  maybe you'd like to join them as a visitor one evening?
