Rotary Club of Potters Bar
Today saw me on a journey (with Noel of course) to Potters Bar. It has always amused me (simple mind you know!) that Potters Bar meet in Brookmans Park and Brookmans Park meet in Potters Bar - why is that?! However, a very fine setting it is for Potters Bar at the Brookmans Park Golf Course; I was a little perturbed that we weren't allowed to 'change clothes' in the car-park though - does this mean that's what used to happen, what an exciting group!!
Seriously, I was really looking forward to this lunchtime meeting not least because I was going to catch up with President Helga who had experienced a very unconventional start to her year having had an accident that saw her utilise the services of the Air Ambulance Team. I have never seen such bruising, but Helga's determination to be present for my visit was extraordinary - thank you Helga for returning to duty so quickly and for the privilege of being part of new member Pindi Sharma's Induction Ceremony.
PDG Norman Davidson was present and it was great to hear how he views the future of Rotary. Norman has a clear picture, recognising the need for development whilst maintaining the high ethical standards that are the bedrock of the Rotary movement.
Potters Bar is another active club within our District with a growing membership supporting the older residents of their area with entertaining bingo evenings, creating awareness and raising funds with activities such as six-a-side football and the Potters Bar Fun Day plus the annual Santa Sleigh that travels around the local streets much to the delight of the young residents of Potters Bar!
