After a late night I was up early to take my Dad to hospital for a cataract operation. Just day sugery but nonetheless something that's going to stop him from digging the garden for a little while!
It was good to spend some time with my parents (mum and I went garden centre shopping whilst dad was having fun...) but there's always something to do as DG, so it wasn't long before it was time to go home once more and get ready for a visit to Luton North Rotary Club.
Luton North Rotary Club is well known to me. PDG Paul Denton was indeed kind enough to give me some of his time when I first became DGN. We met for coffee and discussed his experience as DG and I have to say he really put my mind at ease.
President Richard is getting quite a reputation; a reputation for being at everything Rotary - I don't know how he does it but it really is quite impressive; I've seen him at Rotary events both in and beyond Luton. I always feel very relaxed at Luton North. It's interesting because they are a well established club with loads of experience and they seem really comfortable in their Rotary. Solid project work and good community engagement are key to the members and it's great to know they'd like to help me with membership and partnership opportunities across the District.
