Greetings to you all from myself, Cheryl Law the GSE Team Leader and my very excited and merry team, Steve Nolan, Nikki Hall, Dan Stewart, Andrew Kay, and Emma Eyles.
Everyone has remained focused, calm and clear headed up until last Thursday, when it dawned on all that there was only a week to go before our Sydney adventure begins. A lot of work goes into preparing for a GSE trip, and thankfully there are a lot of very helpful Rotarians that have smoothed the path of organisation! So thank you - you know who you are! We met last Thursday in the pub - as you do - and I handed over the polo shirts with the GSE and Rotary Roundel, the ties, scarves, badges to be sewn on jackets, and other paraphernalia. It was like Christmas all over again, and goodness knows what our fellow pub goers thought, as polo shirts were tried on and ties held up for inspection. They looked very smart, and whatever occasions we attend in Sydney, they will do District 1260 and John proud. Eating out in pubs has become a mainstay of our meetings. It has provided a great opportunity for the team to get to know each other well, and really gel together. Many hours have been spent putting together presentations, and many more will follow in Australia as they are amended as the month progresses. For those of you who didn't get to the GSE presentation evening in January, you missed a great evening, but once we are back, there will be ample opportunity to hear the team speak around District. The blog will be updated everyday whilst we are away, and you will hear from everyone at some point, and me most days. There will also be photos of our adventure, so please check in regularly to see what we are up to. G'day! GSE Team |
