Cartridge Purchase Scheme from The Rotary Club of Amwell
Written by Chalmers Cursley

We can order "replacement cartridges" for any consumer computer printer, from the largest manufacture in the UK.

You will save on your running costs by about 20-30%, with a full fully guarantee. The Rotary Club of Amwell will obtain the retail margin for its "charity fund raising" account. - PAINLESS!

All you do is advise us of the cartridge reference number, and make/ model of printer. We will reply with the price. You then tell us what and when to order.

We will request a cheque (payable to the ROTARY CLUB OF AMWELL) as you place your order, we then advise you when and where to collect from. Despatch by post is possible, but not for one or two cartridges.

Now it up to you; I would suggest you request prices, you can then decide on when to try.

Incidentally, the company claim up to 50% more ink than the original manufactures allow, by use new "chip technology" [we have all had messages saying "out of ink", when we knew full well, there was some left].

You can of course, extend this offer to all and sundry.

For those that buy on price, do let me know your actual cost per cartridge, and the source [taking into account VAT, carriage, minimum number, etc], as we can probably match your price by reducing the margin retained by the Club.

NB we can accept empties and old phones for re-cycling; we get credit for these too.

Rotary Lights up the World
Written by Chalmers Cursley

Rotary International's pledge to eradicate the childhood disease of Polio will illuminate historic landmarks such as the Roman Coliseum and British Parliament during the week of February 23, the service organization's 104th anniversary. Other areas to receive attention will be the Sydney Opera House and Cape Town's Table Mountain. The illuminated displays highlight an already historic year in Rotary's 20-year effort to eradicate polio, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation pledged $355 million to the cause last month. In addition to the landmark displays, there will be other awareness and fundraising activities in Scotland, Singapore and South Korea. Great progress has made against the Polio disease, with 350,000 cases in 1988 being reduced to the less than 2,000 cases in 2008. Available multimedia includes video of Rotarians administering Polio vaccines, as well as still images of the British Parliament with an End Polio banner.

Nothing Changes!
Written by Chalmers Cursley

I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress.

Induction of two new members to Leighton Linslade
Written by Les Lee

webber_redbull_08.jpgGuest Speaker F1 Driver Mark Webber witnesses induction of two new members to Leighton Linslade.

On Monday the 2nd February 2009 Leighton Linslade held a New Members meeting at The Stag Inn in Mentmore. This was the night following the big snow and road conditions were still a bit tricky.

However attendance proved to be a full house perhaps due to the very special Guest Speaker Australian F1 Red Bull Driver Mark Webber. Also in the audience was British Touring Car Diver Dave Pinkley.
