Home 2 Rome: Full Story
Written by Wendy Coertze
h2r-car We decided to do this rally forShelterBox, because we were both passionate about the good works that thischarity is doing in our disaster and war torn world.

All Rotary clubs in District 1260were asked to sponsor just £100.00 per club and we also rallied (excuse thepun!) support from friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor us, in orderto make the journey worthwhile.

We found an old Ford car from agood friend who was selling the car for £100.00 - perfect for our mission.

stmarksthumb_h2rday4Wow!!!

What an adventure…. Finally madeit back from Europe – but sadly not in the banger…..

Herewith a quick summary – butif anyone would like me to come and do a full talk to your club, please contactme on one of the numbers below.

We made it to Venice with thehelp of a friend in (an ex pimps) the Daimler. There we had another challengeto complete – we had to take the spare wheel of our banger from the main trainstation in Mestre to St Marks Square and get a tourist to photograph us withthe tyre. We then had to bring the same tyre back to our hotel and get anotherteam picture taken outside the hotel.
