Next year at the District Conference in Torquay we will again be featuring the popular "Big Picture". The photograph above shows last year's successful display in which almost every Club in 1260 showcased their activities and achievements across the year.
The theme for Torquay will be: "What we did to End Polio Now". We are in the third and final year of raising funds and awareness of Polio around Rotary Day. Over the three years Clubs have organised events, planted crocuses, participated in immunisations, presented in schools and publicised in town centres - and generally given great support to the important Rotary End Polio Now campaign.
No doubt all our Clubs will be making one more big push in February, so this is early warning that we will be inviting every Club (whether you are able to attend conference or not) to celebrate your great work supporting the Polio Programme across all three years - so get your cameras snapping, dig out the photos and get creative.
The District Conference each year is a great opportunity to learn more about the big world of Rotary and to meet Rotarians from other Clubs. If you have joined Rotary in the last few years, why not get booked up and come along. There is a lot more to Rotary than many of us realise.

The Programme is developing well. We are now delighted to be able to announce that our main speaker will be Eve Pollard. Eve was formerly editor of the Sunday Mirror and the Sunday Express. She was also launch editor-in-chief of ELLE magazine in the US and edited the Sunday magazine for the News of the World and You magazine for the Mail on Sunday. She has also worked in television and has appeared regularly on Radio and TV. She was appointed OBE in 2008.
This year in particular there will also be parallel Breakout Sessions focused on key Rotary topics along with a special session for Partners - Gail Stewart speaking about life with her Father Eric Morecombe.
We will also have an Open Forum where Rotary issues can be aired and debated with a panel of RIBI representatives and guest DGs.

Dear Amanda,
I am writing to formally say thankyou for the £4,000 cheque you presented to Michael and myself on Saturday at the District Conference.
Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved with the raising of these funds.
The monies you have donated to DEBRA will be used for our Nurses, Social Care and Research. With your support we will eventually find a cure for EB and eradicate this condition.
