Following this success of last year's concert, the Luton clubs along with Barton & Flitwick present the Luton Youth Orchestra, Luton Youth Jazz Orchestra, Luton Youth Cantores, Stage One Theatre School and Youth Japanese Taika Drummers in a spectacular show of the musical talent of young people in the area.
The show was a huge success last year - and so this year it has moved to a larger venue at The Riverside Suite in Gypsy Lane, Luton. The show is being compered by Richard Sisson - west-end composer and the musician half of Kit and The Widow.

Whether you are holding a social, promotional, membership of fund-raising event why not advertise for free on our new T4L Events Diary. Just click here to attract interest. Apart from raising funds for End Polio Now, Thanks for Life is as much about creating public awareness of what Rotary does in general, and what your Club(s) do in particular to build communities and bridge continents. Do ensure that you have a Rotary stand, booth or table at any and every event to which non-members are invited. Who knows it might gain you a member of two … don’t try, don’t get!
For ideas and relevant resources go to the RIBI website or contact a District Service or Membership Services Chair.

Congratulation to
The Rotary Club of Hitchin Tilehouse. They have officially set the new Guinness World Record for the greatest number of people planting bulbs at the same time.
The
feat was achieved when the Hertfordshire based club recruited
643 members of the public, local guides, beavers, friends and family to
simultaneously plant ‘Ruby Giant’ crocus bulbs for Focus on the Crocus, part of the Thanks for Life
campaign. The original record was 331 people.
Volunteers really got stuck in at Butts Close Park.
They were up against competition from Rotary clubs across Great Britain
and Ireland, all keen to break the record. After checking the results
from across the country, Hitchin Tilehouse have emerged as the potential
winners of the Guinness World Record, subject to official validation.

Butts Close was the place to be on Saturday 2nd October where The Rotary Club of Hitchin Tilehouse were attempting to set a new World Record for the number of people planting bulbs in one place, at one time.
Weeks of intensive planning, a fine autumn day, a fantastic turnout from the residents of Hitchin, and support from a number of local groups, schools, and organisations came together to create a carnival atmosphere as over 600 bulb planters converged to make the record attempt.
