On
Monday 9th. February 2009, a presentation of a pen set was made to Past
District Governor Rtn Aldred Evershed by Rtn Luing Cowley, a founder member of
the Bletchley Rotary Club.
After
32 years as a member of the Bletchley Rotary Club, Aldred and his wife Kay have
moved house to Wokingham to be near his family. During his time in Bletchley,
he was Club President on 2 separate occasions - 1983/4 and again in 2007/8
during the Club's 50th anniversary.
He is also a Past District Governor of
District 1260 twixt 1990/91 - and also served on the RIBI Constitution &
Resolutions Committee in 1991/2 and was responsible for preparing leaflets on
'Copyright', 'Women in Rotary' and 'Rotary and Fund Raising' which were sent to
all clubs in RIBI!
During
the 1992/3 year he served on the RIBI Credentials & Election Committee. He
was a discussion group leader at the Rl Institute in London in November 1992,
Registration Officer for the RI Presidential Salute to Rotary Foundation
Scholarships in London in November 1992 and represented the RI President at
District 1030 Conference in Harrogate in October 1995. He was also the 1st.
Chairman of the District 1260 Committee in 1985 and served for 2 years.
