Is this the first virtual council meeting in District? Print E-mail
Written by Elizabeth Sheldon

virtual-meeting.jpg No longer need we postpone meetings because the President or key Rotarian is unable to make the date.

Recently a Brickhills council meeting had been scheduled but the President found himself away on business. so rather than cancel the meeting we did a quick bit of thinking and decided to connect via video Skype so that he could see and hear us and we could see and hear him.

The beauty of Skype is that is is free and easy to use and install. We used 2 Apple Macs which have cameras built into the top of the screen but a webcam works just as well.

If anyone would like to know how to do this please ask any member of the PR and Comms team.

A Thought...

glennestessl.jpg"One of the most wonderful things about Rotary is that it allows you to be part of something so much larger than yourself."

Glenn E. Estess Snr., RI President 2005.

Nothing Changes...

paul-harris.jpg"I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."

Paul Harris - The Rotarian February 1945
