 Meg Salmon is an Area Events Manager for Cancer Research UK and she organises
Race for Life and Run 10k events.
These include the following:-
- Welwyn
& Hatfield Race for Life – Stanborough Park, Sunday 7th June
2009
- Luton
Race for Life – Stockwood Park, Sunday 5th July 2009
- Stevenage
Race for Life – Fairlands Valley Park, Saturday 11th July 2009
- Stevenage
Race for Life – Fairlands Valley Park, Sunday 12th July 2009
- St
Albans Race for Life – Verulamium Park, Sunday 19th July 2009
- Hatfield
House 10k – Saturday 17th October 2009
- Hatfield
House 10k – Sunday 18th October 2009
Each
of these events require a lot of support from volunteers and she was wondering if
any of the local Rotary Clubs to these events would be interested in getting
involved in supporting any of them on the day.
Meg writes:
It
would be brilliant to have as many people involved as possible. Without
the support of volunteers and groups such as yourselves, our events would not
be able to go ahead.
I
have attached the profiles of the different volunteer opportunities on the day
at a Race for Life event [see below]. There are other things in and around the event
area that we will need help with as well. The welfare volunteer role is
something that can only be fulfilled by someone who has been CRB checked.
I
am really struggling to get early morning set up volunteers for the Welwyn
& Hatfield Race for Life taking place in Stanborough Park on Sunday 7th
June 2009 so if anyone is in a position to come down from 6am on the day, I
would be most grateful. I realise this is very early for a Sunday so I am
not expectant.
I
hope that after receiving this email, some of the local Rotary members will be
able to offer support to Cancer Research UK and me with this. I would
really appreciate it if anyone is able to help.
