We won a national award Print E-mail
Written by Elizabeth Sheldon
ribi_logo_portrait.gifIn February the call came down from John Minhinick, chairman of the RIBI PR and Communications committee for nominations for the national PR event award. This award is for the event, that in the eye of the judges, has promoted Rotary in in accordance with the set criteria. It was decided to enter the Brickhills club for the Rotary Easter Showcase that we put on in Middleton Hall last year.

A 45 page report was drafted and submitted to RIBI headquarters. One month later we had a phone call to say that we had won the award jointly with Stanford St Martins Rotary club.
Andrew and Elizabeth Sheldon travelled to National Conference in Edinburgh to receive the award. It was a very proud moment.
...District Governor Les Lee called us from his hospital bed and said "I am very proud of you and the Brickhills Rotary Club for winning the award. I know how much work went into the event and I could not be happier that you have won this for us all. Thank you very much"

A Thought...

glennestessl.jpg"One of the most wonderful things about Rotary is that it allows you to be part of something so much larger than yourself."

Glenn E. Estess Snr., RI President 2005.

Nothing Changes...

paul-harris.jpg"I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."

Paul Harris - The Rotarian February 1945
