Hitchin Pancake Festival Print E-mail
Written by Chalmers Cursley

hitchin-pancake-festivalweb.jpgThe Hitchin Pancake Festival, organised by Hitchin Priory Rotary Club is now in its 12th year and has raised large sums of money for various charities.

This year the aim is to raise over £10,000 for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth.

On both days, Saturday 13th and Tuesday 16th February the Market Square, Hitchin will be full of stalls selling pancakes, mulled wine, bric-a-brac and hosting various games.

The pancake races will be held on Pancake Day, Tuesday the 16th February.  There will be races for men, women, fancy dress and estate agents!

The Club is hoping for a fine day which should encourage the great support they have enjoyed in the past from the people and businesses of Hitchin.

A Thought...

glennestessl.jpg"One of the most wonderful things about Rotary is that it allows you to be part of something so much larger than yourself."

Glenn E. Estess Snr., RI President 2005.

Nothing Changes...

paul-harris.jpg"I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."

Paul Harris - The Rotarian February 1945
