ShelterBox says thanks and Happy Birthday Rotary Print E-mail
Written by Stephen Sypula

As ShelterBox continues to help re-build communities, the staff take time out to say Happy Birthday. Shelter has already been provided for 80,000 Haitians. Further shipments for another 50,000 are due in Haiti by the end of the month. This video shows ShelterBox teams working with other agencies to provide more than the essential life support resources we have come to expect. Do switch on your sound and click on the video to get a full screen showing.

"The response to this disaster is a long term commitment for ShelterBox and we are doing everything within our power to ensure as many Haitians as possible are provided with safe and secure shelter."

Rotarian Tom Henderson, Founder and CEO of ShelterBox, continues: ‘The dedication, passion, generosity, encouragement and commitment of Rotarians has been astounding. Their efforts have helped bring hope back to Haiti and all the countries we have responded to with emergency shelter over the past ten years.

‘We want to say a huge thank you to Rotary International and wish them Happy Birthday on their 105th anniversary.’

It will come as little surprse to many to know that over 80% of the £46,000 raised so far in D1260 for Haiti was directed to the Rotarian inspired ShelterBox organisation. Well done guys.

A Thought...

glennestessl.jpg"One of the most wonderful things about Rotary is that it allows you to be part of something so much larger than yourself."

Glenn E. Estess Snr., RI President 2005.

Nothing Changes...

paul-harris.jpg"I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."

Paul Harris - The Rotarian February 1945
