Meeting the needs, responding to the situations and making a difference has been the unwritten motto of Hope Outreach UK. Since 1985, through several meaningful and practical projects, this volunteer Milton Keynes based organisation has been carrying out a series of welfare projects, working amongst the poor, disadvantaged and marginalised people of Sri-Lanka and Southern India. The aims have been to alleviate poverty, improve health and education and to reconcile fractured communities. The mission has been non-discriminatory, working across the religious, ethnic and social divide, responding to the needs of the people. All the projects are locally owned and locally managed hence remaining sensitive and relevant to the local communities. Hope Outreach UK is run entirely by volunteers without any employed staff or overheads and hence the funds raised go directly to the people in need on the ground.
