Welcome Amanda and her team Print E-mail
Written by Elizabeth Sheldon

Thursday 1st July  was a wonderful night. It was warm and dry but most of all it was the night of our induction dinner in Luton. Sandy Aked-Walker ended her year making a speech in which she talked about the wonderful time she and David had meeting all the members in their clubs and attending some terrific events.

After presiding over the district awards (details below) Sandy handed over to Amanda Watkin and immediately the very well represented Hitchin Tilehouse club stood with a lovely home made welcome message for Amanda.

The awards were as follows: Comm Voc - St Albans International - Ampthill and District Membership - Milton Keynes e-Newsletter - Amwell Paper newsletter - Bletchley Club website - Amersham PR Event St Albans Clubs( purple Stealth Campaign) Youth Opportunities - Potters Bar DG award went to Wolverton and Stony Stratford A special award was made to Jasmine Morris by RIBI for her International work. A Thought...

glennestessl.jpg"One of the most wonderful things about Rotary is that it allows you to be part of something so much larger than yourself."

Glenn E. Estess Snr., RI President 2005.

Nothing Changes...

paul-harris.jpg"I would like to think that the pioneering days of Rotary have only just begun. There are just as many new things to be done as ever there were. Kaleidoscopic changes are taking place, many of them without our will. Even to hang on to the fringe of this fast-changing world is about all most of us can do. Rotary simply must continue to pioneer or be left in the rear of progress."

Paul Harris - The Rotarian February 1945
