Well, what a day... The RIBI Exec met for the second time this year at 9am this morning in Alcester - 9hrs later I was able to get in my car and drive home again but I did have the benefit of a 20min lunch break in that time!! Truthfully, it is always a pleasure to see other members of the Executive and the staff at our RIBI HQ, but I have to say that even I found a 9hr meeting rather taxing... I should have twigged when I saw the 12 page Agenda! As those of you who have spoken with me recently will know, I am very keen to gain a clearer understanding of both the strategic and operational benefits of 'RIBI'. There is no doubt that we have a dedicated team of people, but I still wonder if we are maximising the potential. I have no intention of boring you all at this stage with details but just want to assure you I am looking at how we (D1260) can improve our ability to serve our communities and engage more fully with the public through effective use of the RIBI Teams (both voluntary and employed) and I hope to formulate that understanding over the coming months, sharing my findings with you and the District Leadership Team. I should be able to follow this up further at the end of August when I attend the first General Council meeting of this Rotary year...
