DG Les Lee paid a surprise visit to the ~District Induction Dinner on July 1st 2009 in the Chiltern Hotel in Luton. It was great to see him. Awards were made and Sandy inducted as the new District Governor for 2090-2010. See the article on the front page for more details.

Rotary Young Chef of the Year Competition (5)

Amersham, Chesham and Great Missenden Rotary Clubs staged the first local heat of the Rotary Young Chef competition at Chesham Park School on 17th January. The competition is open to young people of school age who are interested in cooking, and the task was to devise a two course, healthy meal, and prepare and cook it in two hours.

Members of the Rotary Club of Amersham directed by John Fox, hosted and staged the 18th Annual Senior Citizens Variety Performance at the Drake Hall in Amersham on Saturday 17th January. The idea conceived by Rotarian John Stephenson was to provide free entertainment and tea in January when entertainment wanes after Christmas and when a couple of hours of fun, warmth and nourishment are a welcome distraction.

The eight Rotary Clubs in Milton Keynes put on a full evening of fun food and entertainment to raise money to eradicate Polio in the world.
